Attendees of the Orlando International Pow Wow (which is a tourism convention) were the lucky ones to enter the theme park and got to see the magic at work. Those lucky few to be there were able to walk through Hogsmeade Village, including its stores and restaurants, take a trip through half of the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride’s queue, and ride the Dragon Challenge and Flight of the Hippogriff roller coasters.

After the fact we were able to sniff out some intriguing details about the attractions, stores and restaurants. And we are gladly sharing them here with you.

* Hogsmeade Village store fronts contain interactive elements that include the Quick Quotes Quill and plants that spring to life as you pass by.

* In the Ollivander’s Wand Shop the wand is “choosing” you like we have reported before in our article. Guests are invited to try different wands to determine which is the best fit. If the wand is not a correct fit, special music and lighting makes it clear. A gust of air confirms a right choice. (Please check back tomorrow for a more extensive coverage of the magic wand shop.)

* When visiting the Owlry, you can choose between four different postmarks.

* In the Dragon Challenge que line you will pass through the Champion’s tent and you can see the Triwizard Tournament Cup and the golden eggs from the dragon challenge. (Please check back tomorrow for a more extensive coverage of the Dragon Challenge)

* While strolling the streets of Hogsmeade Street performers will entertain the visitors The girls from the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic performing a ribbon dance and boys from the Durmstrang Institute wielding staffs.

* Moving along to the Flight of the Hippogriff attraction, you will meet Hagrid, Fang, and Buckbeak. Make sure you bow before getting on the Hippogriff.

* One of the most fun apparel item for sale is “I served Time In Azkaban”.

As you can imagine all those details are top secret. We will try to scoop some new info in the coming days so make sure you check back.

While the park is artistically well done, the park wasn’t very well planned at all!! The main ride (The forbidden Journey) doesn’t work part of the time, even after you’ve waited hours for the ride. They are expecting up to an 8 hour wait through the castle in order to ride the Forbidden Journey. Don’t even think of getting on the ride if you are more than an “average” sized person.!!!! The seats are really small & not accommodating to any one of a larger size!!!!!!! Shame on the WWOHP for NOT realizing that everyone is not of an ultra-small stature!!!!!!!! If you are “above averaged” in any way, shape, or form, then you are sure to be imbarressed & humiliated when you attempt to board the main HP ride!! & God help you when after your 8 hour wait, it quits working!!! Warning…Stay Away!!!

I was there Friday and all i can say is wow… i knew nothing of Harry Potter before my visit. i havent read his books or seen any of his movies, but now im a harry fan! yeah universal really submerges you into the harry world, all the employees are in character wherever you go, the architecture is amazing and so is the wintery gardening that will almost make you shiver in july. as for the lines, yeah they had lines, even at the butterbeer cart and the souvineer shop. aparently harry potter has a huge fan base, and from what i saw the fans came from all over the world, and ranged in age from strollers to walkers. as for the ride, yeah it was breaking down, but it was awsome you fly around with Harry and dodge all kinds of calamities. im 6′2” and 235 lbs and i didnt have a problem getting on the ride so i bet the complainers just need to loose some weight, wich you will do walking up to the castle. the resturaunt was very nice. and finaly keep an eye out for the sunset competiton at the rock thing… it was awesome, dudes with sticks dancin around like ninjas, and beautiful blue silk wearing wizard chicks that dance around with magical wands. it was super cool.
