Harry Potter Theme Park Opening Date

Mark your calendars! June 18th, 2010 is the date of the official grand opening of Harry Potter Theme Park.

Universal has released this date, which is a little late to everybody opinion. We were all ready to go today. This is a very busy day for Harry Potter news so lets get right to it and sort it through.

But first here is a first look at the making of “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey”. The video lets us take a peek at the Hogwarts castle, and shows The Quidditch match you will participate in during the ride.

The in depth review of the “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey” ride will post in an hour or two so make you sure you check back. Trust us when we say you will be amazed.

So, first things first.

The official opening date is June 18, 2010 but, and that’s the big one…They were selling vacation packages for the memorial day weekend of 2010 you would ask because you are a frequent visitor to this site, and that is what we were saying here all along. Well regarding that we have good news and bad news.

The good news is that if some of you who have purchased the package you will get what you have paid for which is:

  • Early admission is one hour prior to regular Islands opening and valid for Forbidden Journey, the two coasters and … The Cat in the Hat. “If technical problems arise or the opening of an attraction is delayed, another Universal’s Islands of Adventure attraction will open for Early Park Admission,” the small type says.
  • Some deals include a City Walk Party Pass good for 14 days.
  • The privileges attaches to on-site hotel stay are good only for the number of guests staying in the room, of course.

The bad news is Universal no longer are selling those Memorial day packages. The package for sale now are from June 18, 2009 and on.

But the park is almost ready you would say. And that is when the 2 magic words come out Soft Opening. Soft opening is when a park opens several hours a day, to monitor how smoothly the whole operation is going.

There were numerous rumors about the Wizarding World will open for soft opening on April 9, 2010, and we are on top of it as soon as something will be known about it we will inform all you wizards.

    I don’t care about rides just let me go inside this place to see the wizarding world.Let me go inside Fred and George’s shop I dont care about the ride. I am going to be there anyway now. There is no changing the date on the time share. Thanks a lot Universal.

    i think this will be a complete flop and nobody will come to see your budget ride which looks like the effects was from the 1980’s

    We planned our vacation, and made plane reservations way back in January to be in Florida over our 40th Wedding Anniversary , which will be April 25th, and we certainly hope and pray for a soft opening this month, so we can include “Hogwart”s” as a part of our Anniversary vacation. We live up in Northern New England..the opposite end of the Altlantic coastline…..some 1600 miles away!

    When we requested vacation time, we really thought WWOHP would be up and runing by then anyways….but with all the delays, I guess many people are in the same boat.

    One cannot change vacation dates and flight dates unless they have alot of disposable income in their pockets. With all the extra fees the arilines are charging nowdays, it would break some people. People like us are lucky to get to Florida once a year, if that!!.

    Soooo, we are still praying for that April soft opening and would appreciate any information pertaining to it as soon as you know.

    clifton taylor,you obviously are of little knowledge ,lets hope that harry potter makes you disappear,because the only flop is you.
    just because its late opening,it can only mean one thing,its safety comes first,enjoyment comes second ,imagine the first day ,queue,s will be long,plus it could be 100 degree heat ,but naturally,you wont be there ,will you .thats because you are scared of heights,loser

    We leave Nottingham England tomorrow. I can’t believe the HPW is’nt open. I am devisistated! Univerasl have got this so wrong…. Spring! Have I been let down????

    I would die!! If i was able to go there!!! I am a massive fan. But I live in Australia so I can’t go anytime soon.
