The Array of Attractions

Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey.

The flagship attraction/ride of Harry Potter Theme park. Built in the 150 foot tall Hogwarts Castle the ride will feature the revolutionary KUKA Arm technology. The rider will be tossed and turned in all possible directions along with the video track of Harry Potter Adventures.

The name was given by the Harry Potter books writer and inventor J.K Rowling. It promises to be a far better version of the “Sum of all thrills” attraction in Epcot Center Orlando, Florida.

Flight of the Hippogriff.

This ride described as a family-orientated ride that replicates a Hippogriff – the half-horse, half-eagle beast from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban – training flight over Hogwarts castle.

Dragon Challenge.

Is a twin speed Roller Coaster that will feature elements from the fourth book “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire”, where Harry Potter had to fight the Dragon in order to advance to the next stage of the tournament.

Landmarks

Hogwarts Castle.

Standing 150 feet tall, the castle will appear to tower some 600 feet up due to architectural tricks the parks creators have put in place. The castle will have classrooms, the iconic “Secret Room”, Dumbledor’s office along with the portraits of past headmaster, Gryffindor quarters, and many many more landmarks from the Harry Potter series.

“Harry Potter continues to spark the imaginations of fans of all ages and we really have seen the anticipation continue to build for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter,” said Brad Globe, President of Warner Bros. Consumer Products.

Hogsmeade village .

The iconic village that we, as readers, read about in the third year in “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” will feature the “Hog’s Head” Pub, where Fire-Whiskey, pumpkin juice and butter beer will be offered, along with “traditional British food fare”.

The Hogwarts Express will take you to the Hogsmeade train station where your Wizarding World Adventure will begin.

Ollivander’s magic wand shop.

If you always wanted to be chosen by a wand, here is your chance. When you visit Ollivander’s wand shop, you will be able to get yourself a magic wand.
The wands are made in different sizes, of various types of wood, and will vary in weight. Each wand will have a different sensor that will react differently to each person’s hand, thus “choosing” its owner. We are very excited about this store as it promises to be so much fun.

The Forbidden Forest.

This is the most mysterious part of the park. We don’t know where exactly it will be located, but Universal Studios® certainly has plans to develop it. The Forbidden Forrest is an important venue from the adventures of Harry Potter featured in the book series. It is full of magical creatures such as centaurs, unicorns and spider-like “acromantulas” introduced to us in the first book in the series “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone”.

Restaurants and Shops

Filch’s Emporium of Confiscated Goods.

This shopping destination will probably include every magical object that was confiscated from a pupil. You can browse through the most desired magical objects that a Hogwarts Student can dream of.

Hog’s Head.

This will be a restaurant, where besides hamburgers and hotdogs you will be able to try a wide array of Harry Potter themed foods. From Butter Beer to Chocolate-Flavored Frogs and pumpkin juice.

Honeydukes.

Harry Potter Theme Park’s official candy store. This is the sweet tooth bonanza: Chocolate Frogs, Cockroach Cluster, Fizzing Whizbees and many more. A one stop place to sample them all. Universal Orlando Studios® are working hard to develop the magical flavors.

Dervish and Banges.

An all time favorite to be located in the Hogsmeade village portion of the park, Universal says that the store will provide the Wizarding community with school supplies, Quidditch gear and magical wizarding equipment. At this shop park visitors will be able to purchase authentic and unique items from the World of Harry Potter.

The Three Broomsticks.

The most recognizable pub in the books without a doubt. You will be able to feel and hear what Harry and his friends felt and heard. This pub was fully approved by Universal Studios® and J.K. Rowling.

“It was really fun to be a part of the whole tasting different [attempts at butterbeer] to try until J.K. Rowling really felt, okay, this is it, this is what I always thought butterbeer should taste like.”

Thierry Coup, vice president of creative development for Universal Creative, shared with us in a phone interview: “It was a very exciting moment to see her smile and actually taste it. It’s a delicious thing, first of all. It’s everything you expected it to be.”

This is all that we have confirmed for now. Feel free to leave comments and give us suggestions on what you would like to see in the Harry Potter Theme Park Orlando.

One Correction. The first book is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. I as well as my husband and children are huge HP fans. And that would probably offend J.K. Rowling had she seen it. Please Correct it ASAP.
I am looking forward to expieriencing that World Of Harry Potter. I know it will be all we have dreamed of. Thanks you US for doing this.

Actually the original British version of the book was called “Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone”

In the USA it was released as “Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone”.

So I guess both the author and you are correct.

The first book is “Harry Potter and Philosopher’s Stone”, it was just released in the US as “Sorcerer’s Stone”. And I think since JK Rowling is British… she is probably right.

I am SO excited about this! I am 30 years old and can’t wait to see it!

[...] Dervish and Banges is where the Wizarding community gets it’s school supplies, Quidditch gear … You can score a Firebolt broomstick for a hefty price of $300. Plus probably the cost couple of broken vases when your young ones try to master the intricacies of flying it inside the house. Thanks to close supervision by the Potter films’ design team, everything looks and feels precisely right, down to the absurdly high shelves and cramped, English-style layouts. In other words, expect some tight crowds. [...]

Extremely impressive/ But a question of course. cost. What will be the price of admission,or is the new attraction to be included with the main park .And is this new attraction already soldout?

On the topic of the name of the first book: Originally it was named “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” but JK Rowling allowed Warner Bros to name it “Harry Potter and the Sorceror’s Stone.”
I can’t wait to buy everything! I promised tons of my friends postcards and stuff. I’m going to buy quills, parchment, and some clothes (although I already have a wand and a robe), and TONS of candy from Honeydukes!

Again, Randi, another ignorant person living in her own world.
“Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” is the actual and original title. “Sorcerer’s” is just for the US.
The thing that irks me is that you mentioned “I as well as my husband and children are huge HP fans.”.

    Really?

Okay so I’m 16. One of my best friends & I are Harry Potter nerds. Our other close friends think we’re freak because we love Harry Pooter so much. So my Best friends family goes to orlando twice a year. They went to Harry Potter theme park in july. Well I just found out several hours ago that there are going again over the march break. They then went onto invite me!! I am soo excited!! I was soo happy when Erica brought me back candy from Honeydukes. But this is even better!! I get my own wand!! Great news considering Harry Poter & the Deathly Hallows comes out in FOUR days!!!!
